Hospice Director, BSN
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Director to oversee the day-to-day management and operation of our client's hospice program. The ideal candidate will have a BSN and ensure efficient, cost-effective delivery of hospice services while maximizing customer satisfaction and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the hospice program.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Coordinate and manage hospice services efficiently.
- Prepare required reports for regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Hire and manage qualified personnel for the hospice program.
- Maintain community contacts necessary for program operations.
- Administer managerial, operational, fiscal, and reporting components of the program.
- Evaluate and suggest revisions to hospice policies and procedures.
- Conduct educational programs for clients and the community.
- Manage financial aspects of the hospice program.
- Ensure an effective Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to maintain and grow referral sources.
- Ensure 24-hour service availability.
Qualifications:
- BSN degree and active RN license is required
- Minimum four (4) years of supervisory or administrative experience in hospice care or a health care setting.
- Bachelor's degree in administration or health-related field preferred (required for New Jersey).
- Knowledge of third-party reimbursement, marketing, and sales.
- Strong ability to read and interpret industry publications, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and reports.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Strong commitment to the goals, mission, and philosophy of the organization.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift or transfer up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent need to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to handle/feel.
- Occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and hazardous materials.
