Job Title: Home Health & Hospice Biller – Contractor/Consultant

Overview:
The Home Health & Hospice Biller (Contractor/Consultant) is responsible for overseeing all billing and reimbursement functions for Home Health and Hospice services. This role supports agencies on a contract or consulting basis to ensure accurate claims submission, compliance with all payor requirements, and consistent revenue flow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors.

• Verify patient eligibility, insurance coverage, and required authorizations.

• Manage claim tracking, resolve rejections and denials, and submit appeals when necessary.

• Post payments, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate billing documentation.

• Identify trends in denials and recommend process improvements.

• Ensure compliance with CMS and accreditation billing requirements.

• Collaborate with administrators and clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies and documentation issues.

• Provide consulting support to improve billing workflows, cash flow, and internal processes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Home Health and/or Hospice billing and collections.

• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payor guidelines.

• Experience with EMR/billing platforms such as Axxess, HCHB, Kinnser, or Devero.

• Knowledge of OASIS, NOA/NOE, RAP, and final billing procedures.

• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-up skills.

• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients.
