Hospice Program Director
Location: Livonia, MI
Full time; On site

About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated leader to oversee a startup hospice program in Livonia, MI. This is a hands-on role where you’ll initially serve as both Administrator and RN, managing daily operations and patient care while building the program’s foundation. You’ll ensure compliance, quality, and compassionate service while guiding the program’s development and growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee all clinical, administrative, and operational functions of a startup hospice program with per diem staff and no current patients.

  • Serve as both Administrator and RN in the early phase—handling compliance, clinical oversight, and operational setup.

  • Establish goals and processes, refine policies, and implement best practices that promote excellence in care.

  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff as the program expands, fostering a culture built on compassion, teamwork, and accountability.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the community to position the hospice as a trusted care provider.

  • Ensure full compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards while maintaining the highest level of quality.

  • Manage budgets, staffing, and operational resources to support effective and sustainable growth.

  • Oversee patient intake and onboarding, ensuring seamless coordination and communication with patients and families.

  • Represent the hospice through community outreach, education, and professional collaboration.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in hospice or healthcare, including administrative or supervisory roles.

  • Active RN license; BSN preferred.

  • Strong understanding of hospice regulations, reimbursement, and compliance.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems.

  • A proactive, adaptable leader who thrives in a startup environment and can balance both administrative and clinical responsibilities.

Why Join Us:
If you’re looking for an opportunity to build and lead a hospice program from its early stage, this role offers the perfect blend of autonomy, purpose, and impact. You’ll shape operations, set the tone for quality care, and help create a culture of excellence. Join an organization that values initiative, compassion, and leadership—and make a lasting difference for patients, families, and the community.
