
The Licensed Behavioral Specialist (LBS) supervises client cases to ensure the effective implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. This role provides clinical and programmatic support to staff delivering one-on-one services to clients/students across home, school, clinic, and community settings.
This is a managerial-level position with direct reports.
Develop and oversee individualized treatment programs, including behavior reduction and skill acquisition plans
Supervise, train, and guide staff in the implementation of clinical programming
Develop effective reinforcement systems
Meet or exceed billable hour expectations based on assigned caseload and regional needs
Conduct clinical assessments, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
Design, manage, and interpret data collection systems
Create and maintain progress reports
Ensure client safety and confidentiality
Observe clients and staff across service settings
Provide in-service trainings and seminars
Provide daily onsite supervision of staff and client programs in home and community settings
Train families to implement behavior support plans
Provide supervision to RBTs and clinical staff
Must be able to work at least two evenings per week and serve as LBS on duty as needed
Participate in professional development activities
Support staff in delivering high-quality clinical services
Participate as a member of the management team
Conduct new client intakes
Collaborate with families and external providers (e.g., schools, physicians, wraparound services)
Communicate with insurance companies regarding client progress and authorization
Promote a culture of collaboration and accountability
Establish and maintain productive professional relationships
Facilitate open communication across departments
Support adherence to professional and organizational standards
Reinforce timely performance management with direct reports
Perform other duties as assigned
Services are provided in clinic, home, school, and community environments and may include:
Hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (e.g., feeding, toileting)
Exposure to bodily fluids (PPE provided)
Implementation of safe crisis management techniques for aggressive behaviors
Physical requirements include:
Lifting up to 15–50 lbs
Standing, kneeling, bending, and sitting for extended periods
Supporting client body weight when necessary
Must be able to:
Work a flexible schedule including evenings and occasional weekends
Travel locally throughout the workday with reliable transportation
Master’s Degree in:
Psychology
Social Work
Counseling
Special Education
Applied Behavior Analysis
Child Development
Or related field
Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) required
Active Licensed Behavioral Specialist (LBS) credential (required)
Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
Ability to travel locally throughout the workday
State Child Abuse and Criminal History Clearances (no record)

Familiarity with best practices in ASD and Special Education
