Director of Nursing
Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing is a registered professional nurse responsible for organizing and directing the clinical service programs of the Home Care Services Facility (HCSF). This position functions under the direction of the HCSF Administrator and is approved by the Governing Body upon the Administrator’s recommendation.
Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the HCSF Administrator.
Occupational Exposure Category:
Category C: No exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Qualifications:
Must hold a current and valid New Jersey license as a registered nurse or physician.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with at least two (2) years of combined public health nursing experience and progressive professional responsibilities, preferably in a home health setting, or
A registered nurse with three (3) years of combined public health nursing experience and progressive professional responsibilities, preferably in a home health setting.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the clinical management of the HCSF’s clinical department.
Assist the Administrator in planning, developing, and administering HCSF programs in alignment with policies and procedures.
Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures related to clinical services.
Ensure the implementation of high-quality care standards across provider offices.
Analyze data to assess home care performance against national benchmarks and recommend improvements.
Evaluate and oversee patient care services and quality assurance initiatives.
Aggregate quarterly clinical record review summaries for presentation at the Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings.
Collaborate with the recruiting team to ensure adequate staffing levels and leadership development.
Ensure QA committees meet regularly and fulfill their objectives.
Assist in planning and conducting annual PAC requirements for patient care delivery.
Support the Administrator in collecting data for the Annual HCSF Evaluation and report.
Identify and foster leadership potential within the clinical team.
Manage the clinical departmental budget effectively.
Evaluate job performance and resources for professional development.
Address and resolve complaints within the HCSF grievance procedure.
Identify and communicate potential legal risks to the Administrator.
Oversee the employee termination process, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to disciplinary procedures.
Implement and manage continuing education programs for clinical staff.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
